First, the concert began with an introduction of the upcoming show, and a performance by the talented pianist Egawa Sensei. Shortly afterwards, Oguchi Sensei, the celebrated conductor, took his place in front of the choir and introduced the upcoming songs.
Then, the a stunningly beautiful sound of the group of talented singers filled the church with music. We were serenaded with a generous amount of songs from the group of performers, some of them recognisable from my own home country of the USA ("Hallelujah") and others were traditional Japanese songs.
At the end of the show, the audience got to join in to the festivities and sing a song alongside the choir. Lyrics were even provided, featuring 'furigana' to help with the difficult kanji characters! The acoustics of the room were amazing, so our voices echoed in the perfect way.
