雛祭り : Girl's Day and Temaki Sushi !!

雛祭り Hinamatsuri (Girl's Day or Doll Day) is celebrated every year in Japan on the 3rd of March. We celebrated this event by making and eating delicious Temaki Sushi at Melody Cafe!

Where I live, in France, everybody loves Japanese food and sushi restaurants have become more and more popular. However, sushis are quite expensive and we often consider it as "too complicated" to make it at home!

However, I discovered that it is not true thanks to this sharing Do-It-Yourself Temaki Sushi Party!

I will definitely do it when I am back in France with my friends! What is also fun is that it's an "interactive" dinner where you share everything with others, you decide yourself what you put on your sushi and you can try new original recipes!
In France, we love this kind of sharing plates, such as raclette, fondue savoyarde/bourguignonne, crêpes etc...

HOW TO MAKE A TEMAKI SUSHI:

1) Take a Nori sheet (dried seaweed)
2) Add some rice on the middle part of the Nori and flatten it (with a spoon)
3) Add the toppings you like (tuna, sausage, cucumber etc...)
4) Roll it
5) Enjoyyyyy !!

IDEAS ON WHAT TO PUT IN THE TEMAKI SUSHI:

- Sausage
- Cheese
- Chicken
- Sashimi
- Salad
- Cucumber
- Tamagoyaki
- Surimi
- and much more, you can be creative...!

いただきます ! Itadakimasu !
