Ojika - where beauty is waiting for you
"Which direction would you say has the nicest places on Ojika?"A question I really could not find an answer for. Wherever you go there is something exciting to discover. Beautiful places are waiting all around the whole island.
Starting in the North, you can go swimming at the Kakinohama beach and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or just take the bicycle for a stroll around.
Continuing in the East, a temple with three toori gates leading to the ocean is waiting for your appearance. Here you will truly be able to feel the magical touch of the gods themselves.
Following the main road, you will be led to a small bridge in the South leading to another small island just in front of the Goen INN. Here you can just follow the way up the mountain and after some searching you will be able to find a tight bamboo path on the side. This one will bring you to a cliff where you need to climb on some rocks around the next corner and up the hill to get to see a fantastic panorama.
Ending in the West, Madarashima offers probably the best sunset viewing point you will be able to find on Ojika. But be aware of the steep hills waiting for you there.
As you can see, although Ojika is pretty small, it offers a wide range of different places to discover and to stay for a while making it a precious island for everyone knowing it.
