A tiny island to fall in love with in only one day

"My next destination is Ojika."
"Ojika? What is that? Do you mean Ojima?"
"No, it is a very small, but beautiful island in the south of Japan."
Even for people living on the main Island of Japan, Ojika is a mystery. And yet, this place offers so many stunning things to discover in a short period of time. By bike, it will only take you about 2 hours to make a trip through the whole island. But once arriving at one of the beautiful beaches, you will never want to leave again. From white sand over red sand to black vulcano beach, everything can be found. The wilderness is waiting for you.

More that that, an abandoned airport that will only be used in case of emergency or VIP visits wants to be explored.
And if you need to take a rest, some cute Cafés with their delicious cakes are the perfect destination to gain new strength.
Although it is such a tiny island, you will still be able to enjoy the Japanese culture and lifestyle. Visiting one of the Shrines or taking part in a Zazen Meditation are only two examples.

Following that, a boat cruise around Nozaki and Mu Island will make you enjoy the Island life even more.
It is also recommendable to try the delicious and super fresh Sashimi, coming directly from the ocean at one of the local restaurants in the evening.

A long, white bridge leads you directly to Madara, the neighbour island. Going up to the top, you will be able to spot the other few tiny Islands surrounding Ojika and have an overview over the stunning panorama itself.

Ending the day, many places offer you a perfect view on the sunset. Watch how the red coloured sun fades behind the wild ocean and makes you completely sink into the the feeling of love. Love for a small island, only a few people know about. And after only one day, you will be one of them.
